OUR STORY Dave Tancredi, the founder of Tancredi Machining, Inc., has been driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a deep passion for the machining industry since a young age. He embarked on his career path in 1990 by enrolling in the Machine Tool & Die Making program at Berks Career & Technology, where he graduated as valedictorian in 1994. Following his studies, Dave gained valuable experience as a CNC Programmer at Berks Engineering from 1994-1998. He then transitioned to Neapco, working as a Manufacturing Engineer from 1998-2004, while also pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Penn State Berks. During this period, Dave faced a significant personal challenge when he developed a life-altering autoimmune disease. Balancing the demands of his studies, work responsibilities, and managing his new health condition was extremely difficult, but Dave took on the challenge. When Neapco decided to close its Pottstown, PA plant, Dave saw this as an opportunity. Despite his ongoing health struggles, he chose to volunteer for a layoff to support older employees who needed their jobs more, and to seize the chance to pursue his dream of starting his own machine shop.
In 2004, Dave established Tancredi Machining, Inc., launching the business right from his garage. Over the years, the company thrived, excelling past his beliefs. As he outgrew his shop, Tancredi Machining relocated throughout the years expanding from its humble beginnings into a successful operation that now spans 18,000sqft, conveniently located between Berks & Lehigh County. The company's growth was marked by its specialization in CNC Swiss Machining, Milling, and Turning with Multitasking machines.
In 2012, due to the remittent nature of Dave's condition, Dave brought on his trusted business partner, Tracey Epting Tancredi. Tracey, has an educational background in Philosophy and Ballet; her experience owning a bustling Pilates studio for well over a decade, was well-equipped to handle the dynamic demands of a growing business. To Dave & Tracey, multi-tasking and rolling with the punches is second nature. Together, they expanded the company, with Tracey taking on a significant role in overseeing the daily operations. This allowed Dave to focus more on engineering and innovation within the business.
Today, Tancredi Machining stands as a testament to how dreams can come to fruition through a combination of technical skill, strategic career decisions, and the ability to capitalize on opportunity. The company continues to excel in the machining industry, driven by a commitment to excellence and innovation, and has grown to accommodate the increasing demands of the field with a dedicated and skilled team.
