What Is CNC Turning?

CNC turning rotates the material while a cutting tool shapes the outside or inside of the part. This method is ideal for creating round features such as diameters, tapers, grooves, threads, and bores with smooth, accurate finishes.

Turning is a highly efficient process and is often the best option for parts where concentricity, repeatability, and clean surface finished are essential.

Why Choose CNC Turning?

  • Excellent for Round Components - Ideal for pins, bushings, shafts. housings, sleeves, and threaded parts.
  • Tight, Consistent Tolerances - Produces accurate diameters, clean surfaces, and stable repeatability across quantities.
  • Fast & Efficient - Turning offers shorter cycle times than milling for round parts, which helps reduce cost.
  • Supports a Wide Range of Materials - Aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, tool steels, brass, copper, plastics, and more
